When it comes to going to the movies, dinner or any activity really, we typically look for someone to go with us. And more often than not, if we can’t find anyone to accompany us, we don’t do the activity at all.
A study in the Journal of Consumer Research, reported by The Atlantic, found that the reason people decide not to do anything at all is because they were worried the public would think they didn’t have any friends.
